Maximum Joy is a double CD of “the best of” Frankie Goes To Hollywood, a kind of soundtrack tracing their progress through the pop world of the eighties. This progress included almost unheard of chart positions throughout 1984 - they remained within the top 50 all year, 4 months of which were at number 1 and at one point they even occupied both the number 1 and 2 slots at the same time.
Frankie Goes To Hollywood were a group who exploded into the charts in the eighties, shocking the world with their bizarre sense of humour and their flamboyant approach to music and stardom.
Well, at least that's the official description of the album. In reality it's yet another compilation of Frankie's tracks with a few techno / house remixes thrown in for good measure.
If only ZTT would release an album / video of truly rare and live tracks !
